National Opioid Guidelines

Abstract 

The recent opioid crisis in Canada has affected many Canadians resulting in increased opioid poisoning, morbidity and mortality. Until recently there has not been an evidence based consistent approach to the treatment or Opioid Use Disorder. The Canadian Research Institute for Substance Misuse which is CIHR funded has recently released a new Opioid Treatment Guidelines. This presentation will review the guideline development, the current evidence for Opioid Use Disorder Treatment and its recommendations.
