Partnerships

There is a high level of diligence and dedication of the volunteers of the Alberta Psychiatric Association (APA), many of whom also serve in important leadership roles in the Canadian Psychiatric Association (CPA).

With these close ties to the CPA, our Executive has representatives from the following CPA Committees:

• Science and Research
• Psychiatric Education, and
• Standards of Practice.

We ally with the Alberta Medical Association (AMA), and share executive membership on the member sections that represent the interests of professional practice in the areas of:

• General Psychiatry (SGP), and
• Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (SCAP)

Through this relationship the APA has delegates on the AMA Representative Forum working to achieve equitable fees and schedule of medical benefits.
