
Dr. Melanie (duPlessis) Robles, MD, FCFP, CCFP (EM), is a graduate of University of Alberta medical school in Edmonton, Alberta and family medicine residency program at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She has practiced community and hospital medicine for over 30 years, and currently works full time in the Emergency Department in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. She is an adjunct professor and researcher in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta and principal investigator of an ongoing clinical trial testing a psychoeducational curriculum delivered to family supporters of young adults with psychosis. Dr Robles’ interest in this research comes through lived experience of supporting an adult child who is affected by psychotic illness. Her interests outside of medicine include playing chamber music, hiking, biking and Nordic skiing.
