Jennifer Swainson is an Associate Clinical Professor and Psychiatrist at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton and has co-led its ketamine programs. She is co-lead author of the CANMAT 2020 Ketamine Task force paper on Ketamine for Depression and a co-author of the CANMAT 2023 Depression treatment guidelines. She is chair of the Edmonton Zone ketamine Committee and has worked with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta on accreditation standards both for IV ketamine programs and for Psychedelic therapy facilities.
Atul Khullar is an Associate Clinical Professor and specialist in sleep medicine, mood disorder, ADHD and obesity. He has co-authored multiple publications on use of ketamine for depression. With his sleep medicine and ADHD background, Dr. Khullar has expertise in the safe yet accessible clinical use of multiple medications of potential abuse, and has sat on multiple CPSA committees related to these topics.
Carson Chrenek is an Assistant Clinical Professor and Psychiatrist at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton and has co-led its Ketamine programs. Dr. Chrenek is lead author on a recent paper describing treatment models integrating intravenous and non parenteral forms of ketamine, and has served as a Preceptor for Clinical Fellowships of local colleagues wishing to learn how to use ketamine for depression.
All authors are advocates of the safe use of non parenteral forms of ketamine to make this treatment more universally available within the public healthcare system.
