Dr. Hibbard is a graduate of the University of Alberta where she completed and undergraduate degree in Zoology (1994), followed by an MD (1998) and Fellowship training in psychiatry (2003). Dr. Hibbard began her career working in child and adolescent psychiatry in Edmonton, and relocated to Calgary in 2008. In 2013 she discovered her calling to developmental disabilities mental heath and has worked at the Arnika centre for developmental disabilities mental health in Calgary for over 10 years. Dr. Hibbard is also the clinical medical director for Arnika, a large outpatient program for transitioning youth and adults with intellectual disabilities. She is very passionate about the population and sometimes causes trouble with her outspokenness.
