Dr. Laura Stovel, MA, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Laura Stovel is a general adult psychiatrist in practice in Edmonton. She has a special interest in psychodynamic therapy and group therapy, and 20 years of experience practicing these modalities. She also loves working with learners, and since the beginning of her career she has taught and supervised Psychiatry residents in psychodynamic therapy, both individual and group. She was the Program Director for the Psychiatry residency program at the University of Alberta and the Associate Chair for Education for the Department of Psychiatry. She presently serves as the Assistant Dean, MD Admissions at the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, and she is the Co-Chair (English Board) of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Examination in Psychiatry.
