Nia Abdullayeva is a final-year medical student at the University of Calgary's Cumming school of medicine. She has a lifelong passion for human frontiers which she cultivated in her diverse research and teaching experiences in her BSc Neuroscience. While studying medicine, she found her home in the field of mental health. In her clerkship, she customized a learning experience with a Health Humanities Elective to include a balance of art and science. In her project, she drew from psychiatry and philosophy to create clinically relevant teaching material to improve patient care.
