Dr. Bradley Hillier

Dr. Hillier is a Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry at West London Forensic Service in the NHS where he works on the Male Medium Secure Admission Ward, covering all the boroughs in North West London. He previously worked at Consultant level in Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea Forensic Team, Heathrow Immigration Centre, HMP Wandsworth (Addictions/Forensic Psychiatry) and South West London Forensic Service.

Dr. Hillier completed his medical training at Trinity College, Oxford University and completed training in Forensic Psychiatry at the Maudsley and Springfield Hospitals, and, and Broadmoor Hospital.

He has a strong interest in international health and mental health, delivering WHO training in low and middle income countries with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, London and have previously been the Vice President of the Volunteering and International Psychiatry Group.  He consults to the United Nations on Forensic Mental Health and continues to be involved in multiple international projects.

Dr. Hillier carries out expert medicolegal assessments at the request of solicitors and HM Courts in criminal, civil, negligence and family proceedings and am frequently instructed. He has extensive experience of giving evidence in Court and is frequently instructed in complex cases involving serious violence and mental disorder, such as homicides.

He is interested in healthcare management and clinical leadership, mentally disordered offenders and their passage through secure services/justice system, and immigration/international aspects of mental health provision.  He also has an interest in addictions psychiatry, and am interested in the Chemsex phenomenon and the increasing interaction of this population with the Criminal Justice System. He Chairs a Health and Justice-based Chemsex Practitioner Group and studies Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
