Learning Objectives

  1. To help understand the research-based links between early adversity and mental health challenges in childhood and adulthood;
  2. To understand and discuss how a trauma-informed perspective can enhance clinical efficacy and promote healing within existing mental health care constructs; and
  3. To appreciate how the self-awareness of the clinician and the establishment of a safe holding therapeutic space can benefit both practitioner and identified patient.

Mental Health, Trauma & Healing....a compelling, intimate sharing and dialogue of hard truths, science, and self-exploration in the context of the culture we inhabit. An opportunity for deep inquiry, enhanced clinical aptitude, growth and repair. Discussing intimate partner violence, relational trauma and cultural contexts within medicine and society.
