Learning Objectives
- To help understand the research-based links between early adversity and mental health challenges in childhood and adulthood;
- To understand and discuss how a trauma-informed perspective can enhance clinical efficacy and promote healing within existing mental health care constructs; and
- To appreciate how the self-awareness of the clinician and the establishment of a safe holding therapeutic space can benefit both practitioner and identified patient.
Abstract
