Abstract

Alberta’s Government has been delivering an expanded system of care to better support the mental health and addiction related needs of Albertans. To continue the successes of the Alberta Recovery Model of care for addictions, increased attention is being placed on a strategy for mental health, including importantly to expand prevention and early intervention mental health supports for children and youth and the expansion of resiliency education. Leadership from the Government of Alberta and Recovery Alberta mental health and addiction provincial health agency will engage through the panel about the critical policy, governance, and strategic operational aspects needed to continue supporting health professionals, community partners and citizens to strengthen a recovery-oriented system of care for Albertans.
