Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly being integrated into various aspects of healthcare, offering exciting opportunities to enhance psychiatric practice. This workshop will highlight how AI can already be safely incorporated into clinical workflows to improve efficiency and patient care. For example, we will demonstrate how AI can assist in creating exposure ladders for use in exposure therapy and discuss additional applications, such as generating psychoeducational materials and supporting cognitive restructuring exercises. Finally, we will explore the ethical implementation of AI in psychiatry, examining issues related to patient confidentiality, fairness, and clinician accountability.
1. Explore the growing integration of AI into healthcare and its potential applications in psychiatry;
2. Learn how AI can be safely integrated into current psychiatric practice, with a focus on creating exposure ladders for anxiety and OCD treatment; and
3. Discuss the ethical considerations and practical challenges of implementing AI in psychiatry moving forward.
