Cognitive processing therapy (CPT; Resick et al., 2024) and cognitive-behavioral conjoint therapy for posttraumatic stress disorder (CBCT for PTSD; Monson & Fredman, 2012) are both evidence-based psychotherapies that can improve PTSD symptoms, with CBCT for PTSD having a simultaneous goal of enhancing intimate relationship functioning. This presentation will provide an overview of the treatments and data supporting their effectiveness, and discuss future treatment innovations to optimize the role of these therapies in trauma recovery.
