1. To learn about Mad in America's journalistic mission;
2. To learn about our philosophy and our editorial content;
3. To learn about our growing network of international affiliates and our collective impact.
We launched our Mad in America webzine in 2012. We did so with this thought in mind: The disease model of psychiatric care, which originated with the publication of DSM III in 1980, has failed. Our webzine would serve as a journalistic forum for envisioning a new paradigm of care. This presentation will present an overview of our philosophy, our editorial content, and how our affiliate sites—which includes a Mad in Canada-- function.
