Settler Alberta, more than any other province in Canada, has a history of direct relationship between the Profession of Medicine, the discipline of Psychiatry and current Indigenous Mental Health, and Health at large, disparities. This presentation will provide foundational definitions and concepts for common understanding of the living colonial legacies we as physicians have been unaware of until now. It will provide specific contemporary examples of these living legacies in Alberta and finish with specific Indigenous Forward tips, pearls and approaches for psychiatrists in Alberta to offer in their own practices.
