Dr. Deena Hinshaw is a settler of Northern European and British ancestry. As a public health and preventive medicine specialist, she has worked in several roles in local and provincial public health and served as Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Hinshaw has clinical academic appointments at the University of Alberta and University of Calgary and enjoys teaching. She lives in Edmonton with her family and loves to cook, read, garden, and stay active outside.
