I’m a second year psychiatry resident at the University of Calgary. I grew up in Calgary, and completed my undergraduate in Bachelor of Science with a minor in Sociology and medical degree at University of Calgary. I have a special interest in Cultural Psychiatry and the social determinants of mental health, and currently co-lead our residency program’s Cultural Psychiatry Committee. I have also had the pleasure to work alongside my colleague and friend, Dr. Harleen Hehar (PGY-4), in founding and co-leading South Asian Youth Mental Health (SAYMH, pronounced ‘same’) a culturally tailored youth mental health initiative.
