Disclosure

After training in psychiatry in Edmonton and attaining the Canadian fellowship by 1980, and the American DABPN in 1981, he worked in the locked unit at Alberta Hospital Edmonton. He then worked in 3 severely under-serviced units: Royal Alexandra Hospital, Fort McMurray Regional Hospital, and Lethbridge Regional Hospital. Special Interest in bipolar spectrum mood disorders. In 2001, he developed a special interest in hormonal equivalents of mood and cognitive disorders, and since 2005 has practised full time with this focus.

He worked for many years in the Alberta Psychiatric Association, the Canadian Psychiatric Association, and the Alberta Medical Association to develop better payment models for psychiatric services.
