Dr. Janet Caryk

Janet Caryk is the co-owner of the Centre for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an exposure therapy, private psychological services clinic in Edmonton, Alberta. Janet obtained her Masters degree in Education (Counselling) in 1985 from the University of Alberta and became a Registered Psychologist in 1987. She worked at the University of Alberta Hospital in the Division of Clinical Psychology, Department of Psychiatry for 13 years, resigning in January 1999 to enter full time private practice. She maintains an academic appointment as a clinical lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Department of Psychiatry, and teaches and supervises psychiatry residents and psychology interns to be skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Janet specializes in the assessment and treatment of anxiety related disorders (including obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder and excessive worry), depression, and eating disorders. She works exclusively in the area of adolescent/adult psychology.
